21/12/2015 0 Comments Santa Visits BillericaySanta arrived in Billericay during December and visited various area's of the town to check that all the boys and girls were still being good.
Every night he came across lots of small children that experienced the magic of Santa visiting and talking with them. Lots of questions were answered about Rudolph, elves, snow and PRESENTS. Round Table hope that every year our invite to Santa is answered and that these nights really make the children's Christmas and we also hope that parents are equally happy and eternally grateful, even if he does make one or two cry. In all Santa helped Billericay Round Table raise over £1500.00 for charities that we support. A massive thank you to all that helped guide Rudolph around town and the also the excellent Santa impersonators that made Santa laugh with their efforts. We would also like to thank our helpers from Hutton ATC, Billericay ATC and Billericay CC…absolutely fantastic!

18/12/2015 1 Comment Billericay Christmas MarketEarly December saw Billericay RT selling Christmas Pimms at the Billericay Christmas Market to the thousands of people who attended . Members past present and future manned the stall which sold out in a matter of hours. Not sure what that says about the Billericay population and their alcohol habits !
Keep your eye's peeled for Santa who will be coming round the town on his sleigh in the next week or so. 8/12/2015 0 Comments Donation For Helping6th Billericay Scouts had a visit from Round Table member Shea Kelly recently to donate £500 to them for all their help at the annual fireworks display in November.
23/11/2015 0 Comments Parachute JumpWe know its a bit late, but this vid has only recently come to light. They went, They fretted, They wet themselves, they went home and cried !! On the 18th November two members of Billericay Round Table visited Westminster Hall under the invitation of Will Quince , Member Of Parliament for Colchester.
Along with 70 members of Round Table in Essex, Mark Roberts (second left) and Gary Tilley (right) visited the Houses of Parliament to celebrate the £600,000 raised by Essex Tables in the past year. Much laughter, patting on back's, bottles of beer and tours of the building were undertaken. Pictured with Mark and Gary is the Round Table National President, Marcus Jones and Will Quince MP, member of Colchester Colne Round Table. Saturday the 7th November saw Billericay Round Table put on what was arguably their biggest and best fireworks display to date - no mean feat when the event has been running for 46 years! Early figures suggest that in excess of £60,000 was raised from the night, all of which will go back into the local community.
Thousands attended the event held at Lake Meadows in Billericay, and were royally entertained, not just by £21,000 worth of fireworks in the main display, but also by a smaller children's display earlier in the evening, the torch-lit procession to light the bonfire, and live entertainment hosted by Martin and Su from Heart FM. On top of the entertainment throughout the evening, there were also numerous high quality food and drinks stalls and a mini funfair - there really was something for all the family to enjoy. Event Director Simon Poole has said "After an entire years worth of planning, Billericay Round Table are really proud how this years event went. We're constantly looking for ways to improve the event, and the online ticketing solution from RedBox was a huge success this year, allowing people to buy their tickets well in advance and at substantially discounted prices. We really do feel we were able to give the paying public great value for money this year, we put this event on to give something back to the local community, and in return, their continued support allows us to provide donations to local charities and good causes, giving help and hope where it is most needed" "We haven't finalised the figures just yet, but it is looking like we will have made around £60,000 of profit this year, all of which will be put back into the local area, and we'd like to take the opportunity to thank all those who attended this years event - without your support, we couldn't keep putting on such a fantastic event" The display really is a community event, with the Round Table volunteers being superbly supported by the towns other service groups such as the Rotary and Lions Clubs, as well as local Scout Groups, the ATC, Essex Boys and Girls Clubs, Ingatestone Youth Town Council and the rugby club. Round Table Chairman Seb Roberts said "We really are so grateful for the countless volunteers who, year on year, turn out to support us. So many people continue to give their time freely to help put on the event, and it just shows what a wonderful town we are all part of". The Round Table motto is "Adopt, Adapt, Improve" and Mr Roberts also commented "It may come as a surprise to some of our supporters, that planning for next years fireworks has already started! We always aim to make each display bigger and better than the year before, and we'd love to hear feedback from those who attended of their own personal experiences so that we can look to make the 47th Billericay Fireworks display in 2016 even better!" Billericay Round Table sadly announce that Lauren Platt will not be appearing, as previously advertised, at this year’s Lake Meadows fireworks display. Lauren is currently in Australia and will not be returning until mid-November.
Fireworks Event Director, Simon Poole, said “For reasons that we are still investigating and following discussions with Lauren’s management company, it has been confirmed that sadly Lauren will not be appearing. This of course is a blow to the event as Lauren is somewhat of a local star and we were looking forward to seeing her perform on stage in front of her home crowd.” However, we are pleased to announce that Essex based Joanna Power has now joined the line-up. An amazing live singer and entertainer from Chelmsford, Joanna has recently been seen performing all over the South East of England. Joanna has performed on the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 as well as at Disney Land Paris and on the Ministry of Sound Album “Pure Bassline”. Simon Poole went on to say “I am excited that someone as talented as Joanna is joining our event, along with BBC1's “The Voice” contender, Leanne Jarvis, who will certainly bring excitement levels to an all time high by performing on stage prior to the big red button being pressed.” We are aware that many people will be disappointed that Lauren will not be appearing but would like to emphasise that her presence was ancillary to the main firework spectacular. Our terms and conditions of sale state that “The Organiser reserves the right to alter or vary the content due to circumstances beyond its control with no obligation to refund monies or exchange tickets.” If anyone has purchased a ticket and would like to contact us in regards to our change of lineup, they should email us at:-info@billericayfireworks.co.uk however, please be aware that we will not be making any refunds unless there are exceptional extenuating circumstances directly related to the change in lineup. We will not be reviewing any refund requests after 29th October 2015. We would like to reassure everyone that is thinking of coming along on the night that there will be many exciting acts live on stage, a large bonfire and fantastic fireworks. It is after all the fireworks that are the main event and the display is very well known throughout Essex and beyond. Fireworks organisers are expecting a capacity crowd to attend the evening and would like to encourage people to purchase their tickets online prior to the event and to take advantage of the discount prices that are currently available. If the event sells out, people will not be admitted to the park and may end up very disappointed. For more information about the event and for ticket sales, please visit the event website:-www.billericayfireworks.co.uk. |
