At Last, He's Gone....!

Finally age caught up with up with one of our senior members in April and Mark "The Flounder" Roberts had to retire from Billericay Round Table.

After joining in  1997, he became Billericay Chairman in 2003, Area 33 Chairman in  2008 and held many other posts along the way.

Throughout his many years in Table, he wore the badge of Black Rod, a dastardly character who held the lofty position of keeping all members and guests in check through the fine art of finning people for their misdemeanour's . No one was safe from the  meanest character in Billericay Round Table.

So thanks for coming Flounder and good  riddance.

Why?

Ask 10 members of Round Table why they joined and you will get 10 different answers. It is initially the social side, getting out of the house to do something different once a fortnight.

Then the real attraction of Round Table goes beyond this, because once you are involved, there is a mixture of respect, banter and belonging which does not exist elsewhere.
